Schuttelaar & Partners (S&P) is a consultancy agency located in The Hague, Wageningen and Brussels focussing on making our agrifood system healthier and more sustainable. One of our multidisciplinary teams supports organisations and companies to comply with legislation and (international) guidelines in the field of food safety, novel foods, nutrition and sustainability. The experts navigate food companies through the entire process of the EU novel food procedure, and authorisations in non-EU countries like UK, Singapore and the US, making sure that these products are safe and comply to food regulations. S&P will use their expertise for dissemination and engagement of novel food companies and stakeholders, and collect information on novel foods authorised by the EC.

Ad Nagelkerke

Managing partner at Schuttelaar & Partners, mainly supports food companies in the field of reputation and crisis management, regulatory affairs and stakeholder management. Trained as a food microbiologist at Wageningen University, matured in the food industry at Cargill, he has over 25 years of experience in food and nutrition. This enables him to understand current issues and needs within the food sector.
Marjolein van der Spiegel

Strategic advisor Novel foods, supports food companies with the entire authorisation of their novel foods. With a background as a food technologist (PhD), she helps with developing the filing strategy, performing intake assessments, searching for scientific literature, advising the set-up of laboratory studies, writing the application text, and after submission, with providing additional information and answering questions of the authorities like EFSA. Additionally, she is participating in several networks of (novel) food companies and has been involved in writing many publications about safety of innovative foods.
