MoSIN at the 8th International Akademie Fresenius Conference

MoSIN project was represented at the 8th International Akademie Fresenius Conference on 3 and 4 December 2024 in Cologne (Germany) on Food Allergens.
Kitty Verhoeckx gave a presentation on the MoSIN project and emphasized that a change in our diet from meat to more plant-based can be a risk for the development of more food allergies to legumes, nuts, and grains. Also the increase in the amount of proteins present in high protein shakes can be a risk for the development of new allergies to, especially when no food allergy labelling is required (e.g., green peas). Next to this it is necessary to study the clinical relevance of cross-allergies and to inform the allergic consumer well about this.
