NPN is the trade association in the Netherlands that represents companies involved in the production, supply, wholesale, import, and distribution of food supplements, such as vitamins and botanical products. With 104 affiliated companies, NPN actively promotes their collective interests. The organization is committed to ensuring that a diverse range of safe and high-quality food supplements remains accessible on the Dutch market.

NPN focuses on safe use and novel foods. The association also provides tools for companies, such as guidance on warning statements and a novel food database.

Saskia Geurts 

Saskia Geurts has been working at NPN for 19 years, including 18 years as the director. It is her passion to achieve health benefits through nutrition and supplementation. She studied Food Technology in Wageningen, specializing in toxicology, biochemistry, and physiology. Her research experience includes studying signaling molecules between cells in cancer development, identifying risk factors for atherosclerosis, and developing a model to predict the toxicity of substances based on their molecular structure.

At NPN she represents the interests of the industry in the development of laws and regulations, formulates the organization's position on various dossiers, and considers issues such as enforcement, self-regulation, and quality projects for the sector. She maintains extensive contacts with other organizations, serves on the board of KOAG/KAG, and participates in working groups of the European trade association.
